We have taken a closer look at the above-mentioned product and subjected it to a practical test. Below, we provide detailed insights and impressions resulting from this evaluation. From the packaging to the materials and quality, as well as the range of functions and handling, this product is put through our THO testing procedure. For a quick overview, we use a point system. In the first step of our THO testing process, the packaging is examined. Does it provide adequate protection for the product? Are the necessary manufacturer contact details and a service hotline printed on it?

The beverage crate shelf arrived intact. It was well packaged, with additional styrofoam on the sides for shock absorption. The frame was further protected against scratches by a plastic wrap. Around the box, there was a strapping band, which was sealed with packing tape, making the box difficult to open.

As a contact option, there is a friendly message on the back of the box along with the address and email for getting in touch. No phone number or other contact methods are listed.

After opening the packaging and evaluating it, we take a closer look at the product’s workmanship. How high-quality are the materials used, and how do the feel and appearance rate?

All parts were delivered in the box and neatly sorted. An Allen key for tightening the screws is also included.

The assembly of the beverage crate holder is very simple, and in case of any uncertainties, an assembly manual is provided. One possible criticism is the questionable labeling of the screws (e.g., 3/8-16UNC*44.5).

There are no noticeable odors. Likewise, there is nothing to criticize in terms of appearance and workmanship – the rods and screws feel very high-quality and, despite their light weight, appear stable. There is no chipped paint or drips. The screws with a black finish also look quite nice and blend well with the overall look.

The practical test

The practical test carries the greatest weight. Here, the product must undergo a variety of criteria and examinations by our independent testers. We test the functions promised by the manufacturer of the item under review.

The crate shelf matches the dimensions specified online. It should be noted that enough space must be left on the right side for using the bottle opener. Including the bottle opener, the product measures about 3 cm more.

The high stability of the shelf is pleasing. Even when removing a crate, it remains stable and does not wobble. It also stays secure and stable when placing a full crate somewhat more firmly.

The included anti-slip floor pads are already attached to the shelf, which on one hand saves time and on the other hand clearly indicates which side is the bottom. However, two of these pads came off immediately when sliding on our carpet. Nevertheless, we also tested the remaining pads on tiles, and the crate shelf

We also tested the load capacity, and it easily holds 120 kg as specified by the manufacturer. This means you don’t have to worry when placing three crates side by side.

The bottle opener is practical and opens bottles effortlessly, withstanding multiple uses without scratches or chipping. We have opened 20 bottles so far and found no defects. The only downside is that the opener can only be mounted on the right side. Depending on the room layout, it might need to be installed on the left side, but this option is not available, which could inconvenience some customers who would then have to rearrange their room.

General

Our final evaluation category focuses on the price-performance ratio and the conformity with the online presentation. This category is weighted at 10%.

The beverage crate rack is relatively inexpensive to purchase. It falls within the low to mid-price range. We have found comparable products that are both more expensive and cheaper (for holding six crates).
