We have taken a closer look at the above-mentioned product and subjected it to a practical test. Below, we provide detailed insights and impressions resulting from this evaluation. From the packaging to the materials and quality, as well as the range of functions and handling, this product is put through our THO testing procedure. For a quick overview, we use a point system. In the first step of our THO testing process, the packaging is examined. Does it provide adequate protection for the product? Are the necessary manufacturer contact details and a service hotline printed on it?

The warning sign arrived well protected in a cardboard box. Inside, the warning sign was placed within the included bag, which also serves as storage. The tensioners were wrapped in plastic inside the box. The cardboard, designed with matching warning stripes, also includes contact information in case of any questions.

After opening the packaging and evaluating it, we take a closer look at the product’s workmanship. How high-quality are the materials used, and how do the feel and appearance rate?

The warning sign was easy to remove from the box. A pair of scissors was needed to open it (due to adhesive tape), but the box provides protective coverage over the bag, so it cannot be damaged. All contents arrived complete. An instruction manual is included; however, a warning about careful opening comes too late—consider adding a small caution notice directly on the box.

The warning sign has a visible stripe in some areas, which, however, does not affect its reflective capability. Nevertheless, there is a small point deduction here, as the finish is not as neat as a customer would expect. On the positive side, the rubber edge protector is pleasing, as it provides additional protection against damage.

The zipper of the bag shows no defects or open seams – everything is neatly finished here.

The practical test

The practical test carries the greatest weight. Here, the product must undergo a variety of criteria and examinations by our independent testers. We test the functions promised by the manufacturer of the item under review.

The Athelon 3in1 warning sign matches the color and size (50×50 cm) as specified. The dimensions of the bag (53×53 cm) and the tensioners (58 cm) also correspond. The reflective capability of the warning sign is very good. Even after the stability and strength tests, which caused some scratches, chipping, and scuffs, the warning sign still reflects well.

Regarding stability: The warning sign is held elastically by the tensioners but does not have too much play, preventing other types of damage. The sign can be bent well so that, in the event of a rear-end collision, it does not shatter. It can then be bent back into shape and retains its reflective ability.
The fasteners are easy and practical to attach and hold very securely. Even after repeated opening and closing, they maintain a firm grip.

We tested the 3in1 warning sign with various sharp, heavy, and hard objects. It has a few scratches and small chips but remains in good condition, suggesting good resistance to stones.

The bag repels water well – droplets bead off the fabric. However, water/liquid can still enter through the eyelets.
