The product was delivered in a box together with another knife sharpener from CUTMORE®. The product packaging arrived in a larger shipping box filled with paper to protect it from impact. The packaging was easy to open without risking damage.

To contact the manufacturer, the address and email address are printed on the back of the box. Unfortunately, there is no phone number printed, so we have deducted a few points for this.

The knife sharpener arrived completely and good packaged, protected by plastic wrap and cardboard. The manufacturer’s contact details and email address can be found on the bottom of the product. Instructions for use are included, with a QR code that links to the CUTMORE® YouTube channel. There you will find a video demonstration of how to use the knife sharpener.

There was no smell noticeable when unpacking.

The color combination of black and red gives the product a high-quality look.

The knife sharpener is well made. The product fits comfortably in the hand and has no dangerous edges.

The practical test

The practical test carries the greatest weight. Here, the product must undergo a variety of criteria and examinations by our independent testers. We test the functions promised by the manufacturer of the item under review.

In practical use, the 5-in-1 knife sharpener proved to be impressive overall. We tested several knives with varying degrees of wear and tear and achieved consistently excellent results. The device fits comfortably in the hand, and the adjustment wheel for the various grinding levels can be turned without resistance. Two rubber feet on the underside ensure a secure footing and prevent the device from slipping on the work surface. In addition, the risk of slipping is reduced by the design, as the blade is guided in a protected guide slot.

However, a minor drawback became apparent after use: after only a short time, slight signs of wear were visible, as the knives graze the edge of the sharpener when pulled through. Unfortunately, this leads to a slight downgrade in the overall rating.

General

Our final evaluation category focuses on the price-performance ratio and the conformity with the online presentation. This category is weighted at 10%.

In direct comparison with similar products, the 5-in-1 knife sharpener from CUTMORE® is priced in the upper mid-range. However, given the solid workmanship and performance offered, we consider the price-quality ratio to be absolutely fair. When comparing the delivered item with the images on the Amazon product page, we could not find any differences—in our opinion, the representation corresponds exactly to the original.

The product photos also give a realistic impression of both the design and practical handling.
