We have taken a closer look at the above-mentioned product and subjected it to a practical test. Below, we provide detailed insights and impressions resulting from this evaluation. From the packaging to the materials and quality, as well as the range of functions and handling, this product is put through our THO testing procedure. For a quick overview, we use a point system. In the first step of our THO testing process, the packaging is examined. Does it provide adequate protection for the product? Are the necessary manufacturer contact details and a service hotline printed on it?

The cat net was delivered safely inside a cardboard box, which was inside another cardboard box containing other NATURIZ® products to be tested. The net was therefore adequately protected.

Also the contact information is printed on the cat net box. Both an e-mail address and telephone number are provided for quick contact.

After opening the packaging and evaluating it, we take a closer look at the product’s workmanship. How high-quality are the materials used, and how do the feel and appearance rate?

The balcony net for cats has arrived complete with accessories. In addition to the 3×4 metre net, the following accessories are also included: 30 ml silicone adhesive with dosing syringe, fastening line, 20 fastening hooks and cable ties.

Instructions for attaching the net can be accessed via a QR code on a card in the box. A drive folder opens, which contains clear and useful instructions. An email address and telephone number are also provided for any queries.

There was no odour when unpacking.
There was also no visible damage. No faulty workmanship was noticed on either the accessories or the net. The hooks appear stable and cannot be easily destroyed. The nylon net is flexible but stable.

On closer inspection, only one section of the 3 by 4 metre net had protruding threads, but we didn’t find this to be a problem.

The practical test

The practical test carries the greatest weight. Here, the product must undergo a variety of criteria and examinations by our independent testers. We test the functions promised by the manufacturer of the item under review.

The cat net measures 3 by 4 metres and is transparent as described. The corners are each marked with a green thread, as shown in the instructions. Once you have managed to stretch the net, it is quite easy to set up. It is much easier with two people.

The hooks can be easily attached to the wall using the silicone adhesive supplied.

We tested them on various surfaces – including coated wood, chipboard, beams, stone, plastic, plastic and metal. According to the instructions, a small drop of glue is all that is needed. Our tests showed that sparing application makes it easier to remove the hooks later and – depending on the surface – leaves little or no residue. If, on the other hand, a generous amount of adhesive is used, the hooks are much more firmly attached, but can only be removed with tools such as a knife. However, this can lead to residue or chipping of the surface.

If you want to maximise adhesion, you can apply the adhesive a little more generously – the 30 ml tube contains enough material for this. In any case, it is important to check the surface carefully in advance: Depending on the surface, you should weigh up how much adhesive is appropriate and how easily any residue can be removed or repaired later – especially in rented flats to avoid unsightly marks and possible trouble with the landlord.

We also took a look at the disruptive factor: The net is still noticeable due to the transparent colour. As this cannot be avoided with any net, there are not many points deducted here.

General

Our final evaluation category focuses on the price-performance ratio and the conformity with the online presentation. This category is weighted at 10%.

The balcony net from NATURIZ® is fairly priced and is in the favourable mid-range. In any case, you can’t complain about the price-performance ratio. Other, even cheaper products are available without this practical accessory, for example.

The pictures give a good impression of what the net can do and what it looks like in the end. The only shortcomings we noticed were the different-looking cardboard packaging and the silicone adhesive – the product images could be updated here. However, as these two points are not as important as the actual product – the net – or the hooks, the points deduction here is also rather low.
