We have taken a closer look at the above-mentioned product and subjected it to a practical test. Below, we provide detailed insights and impressions resulting from this evaluation. From the packaging to the materials and quality, as well as the range of functions and handling, this product is put through our THO testing procedure. For a quick overview, we use a point system. In the first step of our THO testing process, the packaging is examined. Does it provide adequate protection for the product? Are the necessary manufacturer contact details and a service hotline printed on it?

The EasyFix slatted frame arrived securely packaged, protected by a sturdy cardboard box. The box also includes the manufacturer’s information, which is very practical. However, only a phone number is provided here. Opening the box was very easy and could be done without any damage. The box itself arrived in perfect condition. Additionally, it is worth noting positively that the box is made from recycled material.

After opening the packaging and evaluating it, we take a closer look at the product’s workmanship. How high-quality are the materials used, and how do the feel and appearance rate?

No unpleasant odor was noticeable upon opening the box.

After unpacking the slatted frame, we initially encountered a somewhat difficult-to-understand manual. It is a bit confusing due to unclear images and other illustrations of the slat arrangement. We found this somewhat challenging – the instructions could be simplified.

Regarding the workmanship, it should be noted that the precision of the hole sizes is lacking. Especially at the joint of the long side of the slatted frame, the holes for the screws were poorly pre-drilled, requiring a lot of force to screw them in with the Allen key. While tightening the screws, some of the screw heads broke off despite not being overtightened. The wood, on the other hand, is of good quality, rounded, and sturdy.

The practical test

The practical test carries the greatest weight. Here, the product must undergo a variety of criteria and examinations by our independent testers. We test the functions promised by the manufacturer of the item under review.

The assembly of the bed was somewhat complicated by the instructions, as already described above. The manufacturer claims that the instructions make assembly very easy – unfortunately, we cannot fully confirm this. Additionally, the poorly pre-drilled holes made the assembly more difficult.

Upon delivery, the product arrived as expected in color and size. The wood and metal are sturdy and break-resistant; however, we want to point out that excessive jumping or rocking could somewhat reduce the lifespan of the slatted frame. Overall, the slatted frame withstands heavy loads well.

The firmness adjustment on the slats works well and is clearly noticeable.

The adjustability of the head section is stated to have 13 positions – we can confirm this. However, the hinge sometimes got stuck when lowering the head section back down.
