We have taken a closer look at the above-mentioned product and subjected it to a practical test. Below, we provide detailed insights and impressions resulting from this evaluation. From the packaging to the materials and quality, as well as the range of functions and handling, this product is put through our THO testing procedure. For a quick overview, we use a point system. BeCo is a family-run company since 1949 based in Lübbecke, with production facilities in East Westphalia and Brandenburg.

First impression of the packaging
In the first step of our THO testing process, the packaging is examined. Does it provide adequate protection for the product? Are the necessary manufacturer contact details and a service hotline printed on it?

The comfort foam mattress “Active Greenfirst” from BeCo was securely packaged in paper foil (very pleasing: sustainable) and delivered in a carton. Thus, the mattress is well protected from damage. The paper foil could also be easily removed without the use of scissors. Great!
All contact details are provided on the carton: both the email address and the phone number on the address label, as well as a QR code to the company website with contact options, are present and functional! Additionally, one of the included notes also lists the email address.
First impression of the product after opening the packaging
After opening the packaging and evaluating it, we take a closer look at the product’s workmanship. How high-quality are the materials used, and how do the feel and appearance rate?

Upon unpacking the mattress, no odor was noticeable. Instead, a heart made of foam immediately caught our attention. Also included were tips and care instructions for mattresses in both German and English. Additionally, information about the slatted frame and a separate leaflet about the Active Greenfirst mattress, detailing its features and special qualities, were provided.
Visually, the mattress makes a good impression. No defects are noticeable, neither on the zipper, the “Greenfirst” print, nor on the seams of the carrying handles. The processing of the foam with the spikes is also well done.
The practical test
The practical test carries the greatest weight. Here, the product must undergo a variety of criteria and examinations by our independent testers. We test the functions promised by the manufacturer of the item under review.

Active Greenfirst matches the dimensions after two days of airing. The color of the cover is slightly greener than shown online; however, the difference is minimal and also depends on the lighting, so we do not deduct points but merely note this.
The test lying experience proved to be pleasant and comfortable. Due to the different indentations in the mattress foam, it yields more or less in certain areas. As a result, the shoulder and hip areas sink in slightly more, providing an ergonomic 7-zone support while lying down. The cut of the mattress allows for pleasant breathability.
The firmness level is as specified, with a slightly firmer feel, just as indicated.
General
Our final evaluation category focuses on the price-performance ratio and the conformity with the online presentation. This category is weighted at 10%.

The BeCo Comfort Foam Mattress Active Greenfirst is positioned more in the mid- to high-price segment. However, we cannot make any quality statements about the other mattresses. The mattress we tested offers very good quality.
The product images accurately reflect the actual product. The greenish tint was not as pronounced in the online presentation, but as mentioned in the previous point, this did not have a significant impact for us, so we do not consider it critical.
