We have taken a closer look at the above-mentioned product and subjected it to a practical test. Below, we provide detailed insights and impressions resulting from this evaluation. From the packaging to the materials and quality, as well as the range of functions and handling, this product is put through our THO testing procedure. For a quick overview, we use a point system. The maximum achievable score per category is 100 points. The overall rating is calculated at the end as the average of all tested features, considering their respective weighting.
The Company
BeCo is a family-run company since 1949 based in Lübbecke, with production facilities in East Westphalia and Brandenburg.
The development and production of our high-quality mattresses and slatted frames is based on our decades of experience, extensive expertise and the involvement of external sleep experts (e.g. medical professionals). We use only selected, high-quality materials, which are refined into brand-name products through the use of modern manufacturing technologies and reliable craftsmanship. We always ensure fair and sustainable working conditions, both internally and with our suppliers and other partners.

The test report
First impression of the packaging
In the first step of our THO testing process, the packaging is examined. Does it provide adequate protection for the product? Are the necessary manufacturer contact details and a service hotline printed on it?

The 7-zone reversible mattress from BeSports arrived securely packaged in a cardboard box. The mattress is also wrapped in plastic film to protect it from dirt. The film must be opened with scissors or a knife, but there is enough space around the mattress to avoid damaging it.
Both the email address and telephone number are printed on the packaging box and the sender label so that the manufacturer can be contacted quickly in case of an emergency.

After opening the packaging and evaluating it, we take a closer look at the product’s workmanship. How high-quality are the materials used, and how do they feel and appear ?

The mattress does have a slight smell, but it was mild and not unpleasant at all. Care instructions and information on how to safely unpack the mattress are included on an enclosed leaflet.
The Hero hybrid mattress is visually well made: we did not find any loose seams or flaws in the cold foam cut. The zip also has clean fastenings. The mattress fabric feels good and indicates that high-quality materials have been used.
The practical test
The practical test carries the greatest weight. Here, the product must undergo a variety of criteria and examinations by our independent testers. We test the functions promised by the manufacturer of the item under review.

The mattress has exactly the dimensions specified. It measures 200 by 90 cm and is approximately 20 cm high. The BeSports Hero hybrid mattress is a reversible mattress: it has one softer and one harder sleeping surface – in our case, an H2 and an H3. Turning it over to the other side is easy: the practical loops make it easy to lift and carry. The mattress is lightweight, so it can be turned over without any problems. Another positive feature is the stickers on both sides, which make it easy to see which side offers the softer or harder sleeping surface. In addition, the hybrid mattress has red Airflex hybrid foam on the softer side (H2). This can also be recognised externally by the red zip. Underneath the Airflex layer is a cushioning middle layer and underneath that is the large comfort foam layer.
The hardness levels of the two sides feel different, which leads us to conclude that they actually correspond to hardness level 2 on one side and hardness level 3 on the other.
The BeSports Hero has 7-zones, which distribute pressure points optimally and provide sufficient support for the spine, keeping it in its natural shape. We found the mattress extremely comfortable to lie on, as it yields well at the hips.
Overall, the mattress is extremely comfortable. Thanks to the relatively thick mattress cover, you cannot feel the indentations created by the 7 zones on either side. We therefore have a thoroughly positive impression of this mattress.
General
Our final evaluation category focuses on the price-performance ratio and the conformity with the online presentation. This category is weighted at 10%.

Our tested BeSports Hero mattress ranks average among its competitors and is of good quality. We looked at ten competitors with the same or at least similar characteristics (hybrid foam or at least no pocket springs, the same size, and ideally also a reversible mattress). Our calculated average here was €188.53. At €199 our test mattress is therefore average.
The online presentation is consistent: the images used are attractive, authentic or well presented to showcase the individual layers. There is nothing to criticise here.
