Quality management (QM) is more than just a method or a tool; it is a corporate philosophy. In an increasingly competitive world, organizations recognize the need to view quality not only as an end product or service but to integrate it into every phase of their business processes. The main goal of quality management is to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and flexibility of business processes in order to enhance customer satisfaction while simultaneously reducing costs.

QM consists of various principles. One of the most important principles is continuous improvement. This means that companies should constantly look for ways to optimize their processes, products, and services. Often, the PDCA model (Plan-Do-Check-Act) is applied here, which offers a cyclical approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Another key element of quality management is customer orientation. Organizations must understand and meet the needs and expectations of their customers in order to succeed in the market. This often requires implementing feedback systems through which they can regularly collect and analyze customer feedback.

Additionally, the commitment of leadership is crucial for the success of a quality management system. Without the dedication and support of top management, it is difficult to establish a culture of quality improvement throughout the entire organization.

Additionally, quality management places emphasis on a process-oriented approach. Instead of focusing solely on the end product or service, organizations examine the entire process through which a product or service is created. This helps them identify and eliminate bottlenecks, waste, and other inefficiencies.

Employee involvement is also crucial. Employees who are engaged in the quality management process often feel a greater sense of responsibility for quality and are more motivated to contribute to continuous improvement.

In today’s globalized economy, quality management can also help companies meet international standards such as ISO 9001, which assists them in competing successfully in international markets.

In summary, quality management helps organizations continuously monitor and improve their processes, products, and services to increase customer satisfaction, enhance efficiency, and remain competitive. It is a holistic approach that requires the involvement of all employees and ongoing adaptation and improvement.
